The University of North Carolina system’s five-year plan came just before Gov. Pat McCrory released his proposed $20.6 billion budget, one that included proposed cuts of $139 million from the system’s budget. Faculty throughout the state — and at campuses located in WNC — have questioned what the plan’s goals and direction will mean for campuses in the region and elsewhere.
